Autumn artichoke

I visit a wonderful place every week with my toddler Elliot called Debdale EcoCentre. They have the most amazing organic gardening projects there and when Charlotte who runs the toddler group cut this dried out artichoke head for me I had to include it in a little still life.  I love that the fennel is completely bedraggled, although it still smelt heavily of aniseed and the imperfections on the table are visible, all looked at with distain by the girl in the portrait.

Your pictures delicately capture the essence of your subject matter. They are really beautiful Laura, I would expect nothing less of you!
